Kawanishi Yuzaburo
The son of noted printmaker Kawanishi Hide, Kawanishi Yuzaburo began studying woodblock print making at the age of eight with his father. He exhibited widely in Japan and internationally, becoming a leader in the sosaku hanga genre in the Kansai area. His extensive travels resulted in a number of European subjects. His distinctive style uses large areas of color and simplified shapes without a black keyblock. Collectors prize the colorful works of this important sosaku hanga artist.
